Bike Course

So I realized the other day after riding with a few friends that I need a LOT of work on my biking.  Ironman Canada is supposed to be one of the hardest North American Ironman Races (besides NY).  Check out the elevation map:

And here’s the approximate breakdown from the description on the website, and from what I can tell from the chart:

  • 8 miles (14km) - Flat
  • .6 miles (1km) - Climb
  • 21.7 miles (35km) - Flat
  • 6.8 miles (11km) - Climb
  • 4.3 miles (7km) - Downhill
  • Climb
  • Slow Uphill - 40 miles
  • 12 miles uphill (hard part!)
  • 18 miles down hill

What the hell was I thinking doing this for my first Ironman?  Oh yeah…It’s all Joy’s fault! lol
